Description

A sparkling children’s story about listening and making good choices, from Natalie Pritchard – author of best-selling books, Monty the Manatee and Sully the Seahorse.

Meet Daisy. She’s always getting into trouble. BIG TROUBLE.

She shouts out in class, will not share with her friends and throws HUGE tantrums if anyone tries to tell her what to do.

But when Daisy gets trapped in a mountain of plastic piled on the ocean floor, she needs to start listening – and FAST! Will she make a good choice before it’s too late?

This heart-warming story, which also covers the important issue of plastic ocean pollution, follows Daisy in her adventures at Sea School where she discovers the importance of listening and following the rules.

The bell has gone for the start of Sea School – but Daisy doesn’t care.  She hates being told what to do.

She dived into class so incredibly late,

Too busy chatting to notice Miss Skate.

“Daisy! The bell goes at quarter to nine!

“Hurry, be quick and please get into line!”

But Daisy throws a tantrum and has to miss out on playtime because of her bad choice.

She knew it was naughty, she knew it was wrong

But could she stay out of trouble for long?

Daisy the Dolphin is a rhyming picture book for children aged approximately between 2 and 7 years old. The story encourages children to listen and to make good choices – helping them to get the best out of life and to achieve their goals.

As a Mum and a primary school teacher, I often see children struggling to handle their emotions when faced with making a choice. They can sometimes react in a negative way – expressing their frustration through tears, tantrums and extreme stubbornness. These bad choices can result in the child feeling extremely stressed and anxious and can lead to consequences for both the child and those children and adults around them.

The book explores the importance of thinking about choices in a fun and heart-warming way and encourages children to: STOP, THINK and CHOOSE.

One of life’s most important lessons is learning to think about the consequences of your actions and to stop, think and make good choices.

When Daisy makes the wrong choice by not listening to Miss Skate, her decision has huge consequences! She gets trapped in a huge mountain of plastic pollution and her only way of escaping is to learn to start listening – AND FAST!

This is the third book in my Sea School Stories series. The first book, Monty the Manatee, focuses on kindness and anti-bullying and has sold thousands of copies around the world. The second book, Sully the Seahorse, encourages children to have courage and believe in themselves and has also sold thousands of copies.
